Hishamudin : Lets Fight Crime

It is better to engage in constructive programmes to create crime awareness rather than reject or disparage the crime index, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein. He said unfair accusations directed toward the police force must be addressed in a suitable manner, given the wide adoption of social media. "We must adapt the way we reply to the authorities. He said the ministry had succeeded in reducing street crime under Phase 1 of the National Key Result Area (NKRA) to lower crime.

 Phase 2 would be more inclusive in combatting crime, and not leave the responsibility solely on the shoulders of the police and other government agencies. "There are some parties who try to reject and disparage the crime index, and exaggerate certain incidents.
